   »Permanent position in Maungarei Locality – fulltime (40 hours per week)
   »Fixed term position inWhau Locality – fulltime (40 hours per week)
   »Monday -Friday
   »Ideally fluent in Te Reo M?ori
Starship Community provides wh?nau centred interdisciplinary care and cultural support to children, young people and their wh?nau living within the Auckland DHB area. The service has three locality located community teams, a central team and a hearing and ear health team.
We are committedto delivering wh?naucentred care that focuses on the health and wellbeing of children and theirwh?nau. Getting to know our communities and working closely with them to improve health results and timely access to health and discapability services are key drivers for us each day.
We are seeking for a M?oriCommunity Health Worker who has community health work practice and engagement with wh?nau, h?pu and iwi and community networks. M?ori Community Health Workers foster relationships of trust to enable wh?nau participation in the health and wellbeing of their tamariki and mokopuna. Starship Community provides outreach services in the home, kura kaupapa, kohanga reo, Marae and community. You will have the opportunity to apply cultural knowledge and community health work practice across the wider service including school located immunisation programme, school health, well child and child development services.

As theM?oriCommunity Health Worker you will have an in depth cultural knowledge and be able to work collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary services to promote hauora and provide cultural support to overall improve health results for M?ori wh?nau. You will demonstrate a practical knowledge and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. You will be confident in your cultural knowledge and approaches to appropriately engage with tamariki and their wh?nau to build strong relationships and ensure timely access to services as required.
To be prosperous you will be confident or developing confidence conversing in te reo me ona tikanga. Ideally you will bring an knowledge of the M?ori approaches of health and a practical knowledge for implementing wh?nau ora. You will have strong communication expertise to be able to create and maintain working relationships with the community and external networks including M?ori providers.
We would love to hear from those who:
   » Hold a full NZ driver's license as the prosperous employee will drive an ADHB pool car
   » Are ideally fluent in Te Reo M?ori
   » Have previous practice working within public health and/ or community setting
   » Have Child Health practice
