The teams will be working alongside the Transition Unit in DPMC driving the changes needed to deliver improved health and discapability system results, ensuring we deliver the Ministry’s part of the Health Reform programme of work. The System Strategy and Policy Directorate is responsible for delivering the Ministry’s part of the Health Reform programme of work including policy development and providing advice to the Director-General of Health and Ministers. We are seeking for people to join us in the following policy functions: » Principal Policy Analysts » Senior Policy Analysts » Policy Analysts We’re looking for thoughtful, bold and adaptable policy people to help shape the future of our health and discapability system, with a range of skills, skills and backgrounds who are great at: » breaking down (and solving) complex problems identifying new ways of thinking about the problem and quickly finding policy solutions and pathways forward » practice working in an environment which focuses on Te Tiriti and equity of results » knowledge the importance of data and evidence and how Information technology can be used to support direction setting » building policy from the lived practice of our diverse communities » innovating in how our health and discapability system can tackle critical challenges ranging from systemic inequity to COVID-19 » applying a strategic funding and investment lens to complex policy problems. We also welcome applications from people with broader practice in economics, data science and statistics, as we have a great strategic investment work programme. We want you to flourish through working across our diverse and changing work programmes. For Senior and Principal functions, you will need to demonstrate a strong track record of delivering analytically robust and impactful work as well as the capability to coach and mentor others. Knowledge of the health and discapability sector is desirable but not essential. More important is having the right skills, appropriate practice and enthusiasm to join us.
