With ACC, you’ll be supporting people in Aotearoa to stay safe by minimising the incidence and impact of injury, as well as helping them recover from injury if an accident does happen. In this fixed term function as our avoidance Lead (Community and Wellbeing) you will be responsible for providing thought leadership abilities and technical advice on ACCs approach to build wellbeing and eliminate family and sexual violence. Informed by evidence and a strong expertise base of community led avoidance, this function will provide expert advice and leadership abilities on ways to make long term impact on intergenerational attitudes and behaviour change and connecting ACC to the avoidance system.
You will play a key influencing function in the direction of the Healthy Consensual Relationships work programme and be making a difference in preventing sexual violence and working on the avoidance action plan as part of the Joint Venture in collaboration with other key agencies.

   » You are practiced and have a deep expertise across primary avoidance of violence, community led avoidance or public health approaches
   » There is a strong writing component to this function, so you have excellent verbal and written communication expertise
   » You have a natural capability to convey important and complex information in a way that connects to the audience
   » Sound judgement with an analytical capability allowing you to assimilate complex information and provide advice accordingly.
   » Commitment to te Tiriti led approaches and to Wh?ia te Tika, ACCs strategy
   » Work closely with internal and external stakeholders building strong relationships
   » capability to work autonomously and to tight deadlines to ensure we meet our key deliverables
ACC has developed a new approach to guide investments in complex social issues that result in significant injury harm and licapability (e.g. family and sexual violence,child unintentional injury,inequities practiced by M?ori).
ACC will be investing in primary avoidance – that is, preventing violence and harm before Information technology occurs. There is significant evidence investing earlier in key developmental life stages of children and young people can have a long-term impact for children, wh?nau, communities, society and the ACC scheme.You will be a key part of the team involved in developing and implementing this work as we seek to make a difference for children, young people and all New Zealanders.
We offer a supportive working environment in a friendly, supportive, and passionate team with flexible working options of up to two days work in the house.The function is competitively remunerated – with the income range from$96k to $120K(pending practice) plus a further 9% superannuation for a combined package.
