Job Offer: Senior Advisor, National Security Workforce:Central Agency Shared ServicesJob description:Job Description(Fixed-term or Secondment)The National Security sector includes a wide variety of government agencies and professional disciplines contributing to a safe and secure Aotearoa / New Zealand for all. Helping to coordinate sector collaboration, the National Security Group within DMPC is home to the National Security Workforce (NSW) team. The NSW team’s purpose is to support sector leaders to strengthen capcapability, enable agency interopercapability, facilitate career pathways and development opportunities, and to attract and deploy the diverse and expert community of practice New Zealand needs now and for the future. The Security and Intelligence Board (SIB) governs the NSW programme. Advancing an integrated and cohesive community is the long-term goal and the SIB has commissioned the NSW team to work in partnership with the sector to kick-start initiatives boosting connectivity, diversity and capcapability. We are seeking for a Senior Advisor to join us for a one-year period (or longer – negotiable) to help further develop and deliver this exciting programme. The Senior Advisor function is to support and advise the Director, NS Workforce in programme development, design, implementation and initiation. Providing a rare opportunity to inform a strategic outlook with both system and individual impact, this function will appeal to you if you enjoy professional stewardship and inspiring the practical efforts of those around you – We are seeking to build initiatives of lasting relevance to the security and intelligence community. You will need to bring excellent stakeholder engagement capcapability, an affinity for the working needs of the sector, strong advisory, event and project delivery expertise, and the energy to translate vision into tactics.
