Te K?nenga ki P?rehuroa (Massey University) Toi Rauwh?rangi Te Rewa o Puanga (College of Creative Art, School of Music, and Creative Media Production) is recruiting a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer and Major Coordinator of Music Technology to support our diverse student cohorts who are seeking to make sustainable careers for themselves in music and screen arts in a three-year fixed-term appointment.
this function will attract Somebody with academic development and leadership abilities practice who can broaden our students' creative outlook and engage them with new and diverse perspectives on music, sound and audio. They will have an capability to teach sound and audio within both the Bachelor of Commercial Music and the Bachelor of Screen Arts with Honours (BSA(Hons)). The BSA(Hons) is an evolution of the highly prosperous Bachelor of Creative Media Production and begins teaching in 2023.
The ideal candidate will be able to teach across both sound and audio courses (music, production, post-production, ADR, foley, film, game, interactive media). The position also requires acumen in innovative tertiary curriculum development, course leadership abilities and administration of staff and students within the Music Technology major and within the BSA(Hons).
this function will provide opportunities unique to the tertiary environment for the prosperous candidate to continue to develop their artistic practice and develop or continue a research career. Information technology is appropriate to someone who will embrace ?konga relationships with both students and colleagues. The prosperous candidate will have a post-graduate qualification, and/or significant industry practice. They will value originality and difference, diversity, and inclusion, and be passionate about guiding the next generation of screen arts practitioner.

Te Rewa o Puanga was established to respond to New Zealand's growth and internationally recognised reputation for innovation and creativity in both screen arts and music. Information technology is staffed by internationally acclaimed and award-winning practitioners and is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including one of the largest and most high-tech recording studio complexes in the region.
The School delivers two undergraduate degree programmes, the Bachelor of Commercial Music and the Bachelor of Screen Arts with Honours (starting 2023). The Bachelor of Commercial Music offers majors in Music Practice, Music Technology and Music Industry. The BSA(Hons) offers majors in Film Production, Factual Production, Animation, Game Development, Immersive Media, VFX and Media Technology.
The School also offers an Honours programme for Commercial Music as well as a Master of Creative Enterprise (MCE). The MCE is designed for students who are looking to apply professional strategies intrinsic to creative disciplines to develop and commercialise their practice.
