About the service: The Department of Neurology provides both secondary and tertiary level inpatient, day-patient, outpatient and neurophysiology services to both local and regional populations with close links to the regional Neurosurgery Unit located at Waikato Hospital. About the function: This is a challenging function which demands outstanding professional skills, commitment to the specialty and a vision of providing a team-located service founded on excellence in all aspects of the business. There is an academic division of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Science, University of Auckland on site, along with a well-equipped Clinical School which acts as a teaching and training centre for an increasing number of undergraduates and postgraduate medical and allied health science students. Required skills & practice: candidates must have advanced training in Neurology and be eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. For information about registration please visit www.mcnz.org.nz Fellowship training in EMG/NCS or equivalent and clinical skills in Botox treatment would be advantageous.
