The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor M?ori plays a vital function in supporting tauira M?ori through their journey at The University of Waikato. The team delivers a suite of programmes that enhance the University practice for M?ori students
Ng? k?rero m? te t?ranga – About the function
An opportunity exists for a highly motivated person to drive our M?ori student achievement initiatives at the University’s Tauranga campus. A key focus of the function is to add value to the University practice of M?ori students through the efficient coordination of Te P?oho ki Te Toka a Tirikawa, our M?ori student hub and staff and the provision of events which promote excellence, participation and engagement of students from undergraduate through to Masters level.
In this function you will work closely with a wider team of coordinators to ensure a consistent approach to M?ori student achievement across both the Hamilton and Tauranga campuses. You will also work closely with the M?ori Student Achievement team in Hamilton and the Student Services team in Tauranga.
Ko wai koe? – Who are you?
You will have a tertiary qualification and an excellent knowledge of te reo and tikanga M?ori. Information technology is essential to have prior work practice, strong computer literacy, financial management expertise and excellent communication and organisation expertise.

income will be in the range of $61,698 to $74,256 per year depending on qualifications, expertise and practice.

This position is fixed-term until December 2023.
