We are pursuing a passionate specialist for the key position of Online Editor – Te Ao Maori, within the Services to Schools team at a time of dynamic opportunity and change.
TheOnline Editor is responsible for creating, maintaining and publishing Te Reo M?ori content across National Library digital channels including the National Library website and social media. They work with and develop relationships with a wide variety of content owners, subject matter experts and authors at all levels of the organisation. The Online Editor manages the content lifecycle of Te Reo M?ori online content, ensuring that we deliver high quality user-focused content that meets Government web standards. The function also helps build Te Ao M?ori capcapability across the Library. They will work with their manager on the development of the style guide and continuing content strategy for Te Ao M?ori content.
The Online Editor will be a valued team member who positively contributes to achieving results to support our vision that young people, especially M?ori learners, have access to effective and connected library services and resourcesthat support their development as engaged readers and digitally literate learners, connected to the histories, knowledge and cultures of Aotearoa.
The individual we seek has the energy and drive to motivate and empower others, well developed capability to work collaboratively within and across teams, excellent planning and execution capability with the specialist knowledge and expertise to contribute to the delivery of an exciting and ambitious work programme.

We are seeking for someone who can:
   » write for the web, and create content that is accessible and usable in Te Reo M?ori
   » develop content for an existing website
   » develop relationships with a wide variety of content owners, subject matter experts and authors at all levels of the organisation.
   » take a matauranga M?ori user approach to designing, creating and testing content
   » use M?ori user research, evidence and best tikanga practice to develop an knowledge of their needs
   » understand website information architecture and taxonomies · working in a delivery focussed environment.
   » Obtain, or already has, a certified translator certificate from ki Te Taura Whiri i te Reo M?ori / M?ori Language Commission
