Programme Manager

• Lead and manage work programmes across M?ori, Communities and Partnerships
• Provide high quality advice in a varied, challenging and highly compensateing function
• Permanent function, Wellington located
The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) is the lead agency for the social sector. We help the Government to set priorities across the sector, co-ordinate the actions of other social sector agencies and track changes in the social wellbeing of New Zealanders.
In our work, we make a real and positive difference for communities, through the services we invest in and the support we give.
The Programme Manager will be responsible for leading and managing a variety of Service and Contract Management programmes / projects and is accountable for the prosperous delivery of new capabilities. In this newly created function, you will initiate and deliver a range of programmes that have been allocated to the project delivery group located in M?ori, Communities and Partnerships, and MSD priorities. The Programme Manager may be responsible for managing multiple projects and / or programmes in parallel.
To be prosperous in this function, you will need:
• Demonstrated use of recognised project and programme methodology and tools or broad practice in business project/change management function
• Understand the key strategic issues facing the Ministry and Government priorities
• Lead and support work programmes on a broad range of issues in service and contract management
• Highly developed analytical expertise with the capability to provide robust recommendations
• broad practice in management of complex work programmes and leading teams preferably in the public sector
• Proven practice of managing complex relationships, both internally and externally, with the capability to establish credibility at all levels
• Excellent communication expertise both verbal and in writing
