Hon Willie Jackson Minister for Broadcasting and Media, Minister for M?ori Development and Associate Minister for ACC. We are pursuing someone who is ready for a fast-paced, exciting, and stimulating function. located in a ministerial office, you will work closely with the Minister to ensure communications are aligned to policy and decision-making of the Executive Government. As the Press Secretary you will be responsible for supporting the Minister with the development and promotion of key strategies. The nature of this position requires you to both plan and prepare a story before Information technology happens as well as create the narrative. With a significant background in media, communications and/or public relations combined with a strong knowledge of issues and initiatives of importance to the Minister and connected responsibilities delegated to them by the Prime Minister, you will be an integral part of the Minister’s team. Supporting the wider team is crucial in ensuring communications are clear, informative and timely. If you are comfortable working in an environment where no two days are the same, and you have the capability to adapt to new situations, learning information as you go, this function may be just the next career move you are looking for. The position will require you to move seamlessly through a range of complex material, where an eye for detail and the capability to communicate complex ideas to a variety of audiences, through a number of channels is critical to success. Having a highly attuned consciousness of the current media and political landscape, you will be confident in writing speeches and news releases. Te reo M?ori me ?na tikanga are increasingly highly sought expertise and requirements within both the public service and private sector. You will have an consciousness of and ideally the capability to work in te ao M?ori environments as well as an knowledge of what Information technology means to build significant and effective M?ori Crown relationships under Te Tiriti o Waitangi. You will be comfortable and confident interacting in a collegial way with members of the Minister’s team, others on the precinct, and a number of key stakeholders.
