We are going through an exciting phase of growth and there will be more opportunities with NEMA over the coming months.
NEMA values diversity and inclusion. We want our workforce to reflect the diversity of our communities. We value and respect the contributions of our people with diverse backgrounds, practices, expertise and perspectives. We support flexible ways of working that bring out the best in you.
NEMA recognises the continuing partnership Te Tiriti o Waitangi between M?ori and the Crown. We are committed to doing our part to deliver on the Crown’s commitments to M?ori under Te Tiriti. We strive to actively build te Ao M?ori perspectives and capcapability into our day to day work, values and practices.
As part of a team developing work programmes and initiatives to grow the new NEMA, you’ll work collaboratively with our staff and senior leaders to develop “big picture” thinking that supports how we positively engage to achieve mutual results with partners. You’ll bring a natural aptitude for managing relationships, and a passion for best practice so you can support senior leaders, and create material and documentation to support the new NEMA.
You’ll be a team player with a high level of initiative and a proactive working style, with an eye on continuous improvement.
You will have:

» Excellent judgement and sound decision-making expertise.
» practice in providing fit for purpose, credible advice, which influences decision making and creates results.
» Proven capability to be flexible, resilient and foster a culture of collaboration and integrity.
What will you get out of it?
We offer a dedicated and supportive team, flexible work options and the opportunity to apply your expertise and practice to a workforce that is committed to building the capcapability of the national emergency management system and strives to empower communities.
We offer a collaborative and innovative culture where our people strive to adhere to best practice while constantly challenging the status quo. If you want to be part of an agency working to build a safe and resilient Aotearoa New Zealand, we want to hear from you.
