We are currently looking for people interested in Flower thinning and Flower picking jobs. We are located in Te Puke, the heart of New Zealand's kiwifruit industry. NOVEMBER Flower season starts from the 7th: We are offering 3 types of jobs: Milling jobs - Fixed-term Employment Contract - paid hourly(need to be decided). Indoor work in a fixed location, mostly night shifts. A normal shift will be at least 8 hours and can be as long as 12 hrs. Work can still occur on wet (rainy) days. Work will be available for the duration of the season (typically 3 weeks, but can be 2 or 4 weeks depending on seasonal factors). A typical work shift will begin late afternoon (2-5 pm) and can finish in the early hours of the morning (1 am - 5 am). Information technology is, for this reason, that you will need a vehicle for your own transportation (assuming you are not living on-site) as there is no public transport operating in the early hours of the morning. Be prepared to work 6 to 7 days a week. Flower Picking Jobs - Causal Employment Contract - paid on a contract basis. Minimum hourly rate: $23.50/h* Work is located in multiple locations (changing on a 2-3 day basis). You are responsible for getting yourself to and from work so having a vehicle is a necessity. There is NO public transport in rural work locations. Work is weather dependent. Flower cannot be picked when Information technology is damp or wet. So wet (rainy) days will prevent work from happening. Heavy dew may also impact start times. Work will be available 7 days a week when the weather allows and when flowers are at the correct stage of maturity. Picking contracts are causal so you decide to take a day off if you would like. The minimum NZ hourly wage does apply. Last year average across all the pickers and across the season was 2.24Kg/h of flower picked. Work availcapability varies from 1.5 to 3.5 weeks of work. This variation is a result of seasonal factors and peak labour requirements. Orchard Work - Fixed-term Employment Contract - $25/h.* Monday to Friday 8h /day. This enables us to ensure that our people are paid correctly and in conformity with New Zealand laws. Information technology also means that there is no middleman taking a portion of staff wages, a common occurrence in many horticultural industries. Another benefit of direct employment is the high level of communication. People always know what is happening for the day and where and when work will commence. No prior practice in the horticulture industry is necessary. However, an interest in working outdoors is essential. candidates will need to be highly motivated, fit and have high standards. This is a physical job where you get paid predominantly hourly ratr and could evolve into a contract rate.
