Offer: Director, Transformation:Maori Pacific JobsJob description:Job DescriptionNATIONAL PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICEDirector, Transformation Following the Health and Discapability System Review, a new organisation, Hauora Aotearoa | Health New Zealand (HNZ) is set to transform the way health services are delivered in Aotearoa New Zealand and achieve our national vision of pae ora (healthy futures) for all New Zealanders. Priority results for our new national approach to health include, partnership, equity, sustaincapability, person- and wh?nau-centred care, and excellence. There will also be a bold emphasis on wellbeing and population health as opposed to ?treating sickness?. The National Public Health Service (NPHS) is critical to our new health system. NPHS will develop and deliver new and innovative national, regional and local level public health services that integrate and coordinate national public health priorities, and place public health teams at the forefront of all aspects of HNZ. In partnership with the M?ori Health Authority, NPHS will ensure that the system has a strong focus on health results and care for M?ori. The function will do what Information technology says on the tin: transform the way public health services are developed, emphasis on partnerships and equity; ensure there is a contemporary approach to working with the right tolls and tech; and not least, ensure the people working in NPHS have the best possible practice putting wellbeing at the centre so all New Zealanders can access the support they need, where and when they need it. As an integral member of the NPHS executive leadership abilities team, the Director, Transformation will contribute to ensuring that Aotearoa New Zealand is always ready to respond to threats to public health in a coordinated, proactive, equitable and innovative manner. Given the scale and prominence of the newly created NPHS, the Director, Transformation will play a critical leadership abilities function across the organisation and the system, acting to influence strategy and organisational culture and drive a new vision for public health. The organisation is highly complex, so candidates will need to bring demonstrable practice in public health and a genuine interest in people, insightful reporting, clinical and strategic leadership abilities. At a personal level, candidates will be practiced in implementing Te Tiriti and will be instinctively committed to striving for health equity and to the service of a highly diverse community. The function can be located anywhere in Aotearoa New Zealand, with a commitment to travel for executive lead team and wider HNZ meetings.
