We are more than just a place to stay, our newly renovated historic building, is the preferred stop for travellers and young adventurers wanting high quality, affordable rooms, from backpacker hostel style dorms to upmarket double ensuites. We are committed to protecting our beautiful natural environment, enhancing connections with our local communities, while delivering an amazing quality and safe practice, to all our guests. As an adjunct Manager you will be responsible for the day to day management of the hostel and an integral part of the team, assisting the Manager to ensure an efficient, smooth running, happy and profitable operation. TASKS : You will represent the General Management when they are not available. Providing leadership abilities and support to all members of the Front Desk and cleaners, enforces the Hostels Standards of Excellence in all areas all over all stages of the guest's stay. Determines a guest's reservation status and identifies how long the guest will stay, and from where/how they booked. Help guests' complete registration form and then assigns rooms, accommodating special requests whenever possible. Verifies the guest's method of payment and follows established credit-checking procedures. Places guest and room information Abode. **Is proficient in social media - Increasing the hostels visibility through social media, events and promotions. This is a must. Answering guest feedback. Replying to reviews and email communications to assess customer satisfaction and create strategies to increase customer service performance. Works closely with the housekeeping department - as we are a small team some cleaning shifts may need to be covered while we are in our quite months, and all the team helps keep 5-star standards up - all are expected to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in. practice We are seeking for * practice in hostels, * expertise of using Abode * Microsoft Office * Marketing practice including promotions, event planning and increasing business visibly. Social media practice is a must * practice using online reservation software and working with online sale platforms such as Booking.com, hostel world. *leadership abilities expertise *Staff training practice. *Must be well traveled and able to converse with other cultures, speaking another language is a bonus, * First Aid certificate *capability to manage and exceed customer service practice. * Self-motivation, initiative and great problem-solving expertise *Excellent interpersonal expertise, with the capability to communicate at all levels * Attention to detail and great cleaning expertise Must be able to work Weekends, rostered shifts. Though we are flexible, and weekends are able to be had off when requested. As we are a small team and COVID has hit our industry hard, we all work as a team and cleaning/making beds is definitely part of the job!
