About our Team
The Safe, Strong Families and Communities (SSFC) team sits within the M?ori, Community and Partnerships business unit at MSD. The current focus of the SSFC team is MSD's response to family violence, sexual violence and building financial capcapability across New Zealand.
We make a real and positive difference for communities, through the services we invest in and the support we give.
About the function
As a Senior Advisor, you will be responsible for redesigning and enhancing current family violence services. Your function will be to inject fresh thinking and agility to enable and catalyse social and economic change in order to get the best results possible for people affected by family violence. this function involves working directly with non-government organisations, while also navigating government.
We are seeking for a broad set of expertise within the Senior Advisor function. You will be expected to provide insight and analysis of systems and services at a national level and work closely with other government agencies. This will include developing and implementing services and system supports and promoting continuous improvement.
this function can be located in head office Wellington or located in Auckland.The function will involve travelling broadly across the country to understand the current service landscape.
expertise and practice
We are pursuing positive individuals, with significant prior practice in community and social services, or government. You will need excellent relationship management expertise and be able to demonstrate how you have contributed to making your working environments great places to work. You will also be able to demonstrate your capability to develop practical solutions for complex problems with a focus on getting the job done!

   » Ensure family violence services are responsive to M?ori.
We also value practice and knowledge in these areas:
   » Co-design or human-centred design.
   » significant practice with non-government organisations, preferably in the social services sector.
   » practice working in the community with wh?nau M?ori.
   » Procurement and commissioning practice.
   » Policy practice.
   » knowledge of machinery of government.
This is a new challenge for a highly capable Senior Advisor. An knowledge of family violence or practice within the sector is desirable because you will provide important support systems to our New Zealand communities.
