About our group and team
Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, manages the Crown’s second largest property portfolio of around 2,100 schools with a book value of $19.6 billion, the largest payroll in the country, and transportation of over 100,000 students to and from school each day.
Our vision for school property is that all schools have quality learning environments as part of a well-managed and sustainable portfolio that helps deliver equitable and excellent results for every child.
The EIS Business Systems team works with the Ministry Information Technology Group to ensure the effective, pragmatic, smart reuse and management of data, information management systems and technology across EIS. We support efficiencies in BAU and new business activity as well as ensuring business information and systems are performing optimally, delivering expected results and are fit for purpose.
About this function
The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for the preparation of data in the Data Warehouse and then leading and undertaking quantitative and qualitative analysis by way of queries and reports. This work assists with policy development processes, financial analysis and strategic planning and the gathering of significant business information in order to provide quality analysis, enabling management teams to make informed decisions.
About you
To be prosperous in the function, you’ll be used to working collaboratively with key internal people and developing relationships at senior levels. You’ll be communicating your ideas through high quality data driven advice. We’ll also count on you to shape, frame and design our process and thinking using a diverse and inclusive approach.
You will also offer the following:
   » A significant tertiary or industry qualification e.g. Information Systems, Data Analysis, Business Improvement
   » practice working at a senior level in a function requiring analysis of complex issues and proven capability to deliver under ambiguous and challenging circumstances
   » broad and sound knowledge of VBA. You can advise and shape our knowledge to gain more insights and more valuable information from our VBA
   » Strong relationship management and communication expertise, and the capability to quickly establish trust and credibility
   » capability to produce reports that are clear, concise, accurate and meet the audience’s needs
   » Asset Management – having practice with asset management would be a great additional skill
