»Promote equitable access to public library services for all New Zealanders
»Strong relationship management and advocacy focus
   »Permanent part time (22.5 hrs/week), virtual location
Public Libraries of New Zealand (PLNZ) is the professional association for public library leaders. Their function is to foster a strong and influential network of public library leaders. This is achieved by offering their members advocacy and support services, resources and shared learning opportunities.
The past five and a half years have been a period of change, growth, and renewed purpose for the association which is now well positioned for new leadership abilities. PLNZ has a committed membership and a strong Executive Committee that brings leadership abilities and mana to the sector.
This is a wonderful opportunity to continue to promote equitable access to public library services for all New Zealanders. You will need to be both agile and strategic in your thinking and an exceptional listener, communicator, and relationship manager.
A passion for and knowledge of the functions that public libraries play in their communities is a must, as is previous practice working in membership-located organisations and an knowledge of the not-for-profit sector.
This is a permanent part time opportunity, where you will work in the house. There is therefore flexibility as to where in New Zealand you are located. The function is supported by a small cohort of contractor and temporary resources.
There are plenty of opportunities and challenges to sink your teeth into, including but not limited to the Annual Forum in Auckland in May 2023, a refresh of the Strategic Framework document and the independent Review into the Future for Local Government.
