Following the retirement of the Artistic Director and this Project, the Board is seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the newly created position of Artistic Director/Chief Executive (AD/CE). The next AD/CE will strategically lead the artistic and commercial functions of the Company through its next phase of development and reflecting T?maki Makaurau's diversity, community and place in New Zealand.located in Auckland, reporting to the Board and with a team of four Associate Directors, the AD/CE will foster a cohesive, collaborative, and communicative team, working together to ensure a culture of inclusivity, trust and high-performance and a shared commitment across the entire organisation to develop and deliver an outstanding artistic vision and plan. The prosperous candidate will have significant scope in deciding how to implement the Company's vision. Bold, creative and visionary in thinking, the ideal candidate will bring practice in leading the artistic endeavours of a significant performing arts sector organisation, combined with a strong arts administration and management skill. Demonstrating strong professional and personal credibility, the next AD/CE will bring excellent interpersonal, advocacy and influencing expertise, able to build strong relationships internally and externally with government, funders, donors and in the broader community. The capability to demonstrate an knowledge of the importance of te reo and tikanga M?ori and the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi will be essential. Auckland Theatre Company is Auckland's premier professional theatre company with a national and international reputation.
