TheMental Health Foundation(MHF)hasan exciting opportunity foraninnovativeleader,with practice in publichealthtoleadtheCommunity Engagement and Health Promotionteam.
The MHF is a charity that works towards creating a society free from discrimination, where all people enjoy positive mental health & wellbeing.
The team providestheMHF with specialist knowledge in community engagement and health promotion and ensures this lens is applied across the organisationthrough our projects and programmes.
In this position you willbe responsible formanaging,leadingand supporting the team to undertake allcommunity and health promotion activitiesinidentifiedsettings and topic areas suchas;workplace wellbeing,educationwellbeing, suicide avoidance and postvention, and prejudice and discrimination of people with lived practice of mental distress.You willalsobe the first point of contact for the Ministry of Health and lead the coordination of cross-organisational work todeliverMHFstrategies,projects andprogrammes.
Your leadership abilities skills and practice will be put togreat useas you lead, develop and coach theteamto build on theirskills,andcontribute towardscreating an Aotearoa where all people thrive.
To beprosperousin this function you will need:
   » Five years' practice of performing operational management disciplines and practices connected with: budget management, project planning and management, personnel management
   » knowledge of public health/population health approaches
   » Engagementwith and knowledge ofTeAo M?ori and tikanga M?ori
   » Proven capability to work collaboratively within a management team
   » Proven capabilityto coach and lead staff to work collaboratively across an organisation
   » Excellent and proven relationship management skills (internally and externally) with a wide variety of potential stakeholders
   » capability to provide and contribute to promoting a non-discriminatory workplace environment which promotes mental health and wellbeing,andwelcomesdiversity.
