The Team: what we do:
The social work Services team at Christchurch Hospital is inviting applications from Registered Social Workers to join our team.
Social Work Services provide 24-hour social work service 7 days a week, as part of a multi-disciplinary team who take a holistic approach to patient care.
We Work across all areas of the hospital with the multi-disciplinary team to support patients’ and their whanau’s health journey from admission to discharge.
The function:Where you fit in:
You will be joining as part of our Front of House Team. This is a rostered and rotating position requiring the person be able to work in ED, MAS ICU or other areas on the Christchurch hospital campus as required. You will thrive in an unpredictable and at fast paced environment. practice with family violence and care and protection is required for this position.
In this function, you will be responsible for the following:
   » Assessment, monitoring and support of clients within the acute social work service in conformity with ANZASW Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice
   » You will need good assessment and triaging expertise to meet patient needs
   » Attend and participate in social work team and departmental activities as well as staff meetings
   » Participate in service development and quality assurance initiative/processes
Desired expertise will include the following:
   » A passion for working with people and their families/whanau;
   » Excellent communication expertise and the capability to relate to people from all walks of life
   » practice within, Elderly, Care and Protection, Family Harm, and Trauma, is desirable but not essential
   » Current Annual Practicing Certificate issued under the Social Worker’s Registration Act (2003) is essential
