About our group and team SE&S – Sector Enablement and Support Our teams around the country work closely with the Early Childhood and Schooling sectors, providers, and communities to provide support, skills and resources to help children and young people reach their full potential. We also directly provide Learning Support for around 40,000 children and young people. About this function This is a unique opportunity to make your mark and be part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team. We want to hear from you if you have a passion for driving and lifting achievement for our tamariki and rangatahi, and have the: » capability to manage, negotiate and integrate with M?ori, Pasifika and special education needs groups » capability to work in M?ori medium contexts across years 1 – 18 with specific practice in kura tuatahi education » capability to build trust, and establish credibility with kura, wh?nau, iwi and communities » capability to utilise M?ori medium context specific tools, frameworks, concepts and knowledge. About you To be prosperous in this position you should have/be able to do the following: » Work with kura and schools to create urgency and know what brought about improved results so that change can be sustained, replicated and adapted » Proven practice and/or the capability to work collaboratively with kura, M?ori-Medium leaders and schools all over your region to help them better understand, plan and adapt to meet the needs of their students » Support kura and schools to value and include students’ identity, language and culture to foster engagement in learning » Work strategically with kura and schools to significantly improve results for M?ori students by supporting kura and schools to work for, and with, M?oristudents and their wh?nau, hap? and iwi You will also offer the following: » Competency and confidence as a speaker of Te Reo M?ori (is preferred) » Have the practice and capability to work through a project management framework » Ideally you will have a prosperous leadership abilities background in an education setting » The capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga Are you ready to make a difference?
