On the dairy side we milk 700 cows once-a-day all year with milkings starting currently at 8am (so dairy farming without the 5am starts!). We are seeking for someone who is interested to get stuck in and join our team. No practice is necessary, just a keen attitude and availability to learn. The function will involve milking cows, helping with the last of the calves, general farm jobs including maintenance, spraying weeds and helping in the cattle yards when needed. We are located about 15 minutes from Te Kuiti, Waitomo and Piopio in a beautiful part of the country. We have a wonderful supportive team of five people plus ourselves. The roster is flexible with the only condition that every second weekend is worked. We have some staff on 10 days on 4 days off per fortnight - others on 11 days on 3 days off and another fitting in with school hours - so we aim to suit the roster to the goals and aims of the employee where we can. Start date is available immediately as we have a drive-in full time staff member moving on as her partner has had career progression opportunity outside of the area. This is a short term position until our student starts in mid-November. We have fully furnished accomodation available - all you need is your suitcase.
