Are you looking to move South from the big smoke or you have just come from overseas and looking for a place to save well and settle for a while. This is the ideral location. The bar and restaurant has been recently superbly renovated to encompass the rich gold mining and rural history of the area which, when combined with the outstanding food served, makes the Royal unforgettable. We are seeking to employ, a practiced enthusiastic person to work full time within the running of the busy restaurant, the bar, and general tasks of hospitality . You must be willing to work weekends, public holidays and some split shifts and have a good expertise of local wines, craft beer and locally made spirits. An capability to make an excellent coffee is a plus. The summer months are a mix of domestic tourists travelling through the Maniototo Plain, doing the Otago Rail Trail, holidaying in cribs, or mountain biking in the Naseby forest that surrounds the town. The winter is curlers enjoying the outdoor ice, the Luge track, ice skating or simply enjoying the winter wonderland with frosts, snow and clear big sky days and the Royal’s roaring fires. Our locals tend to be a mixture of retiree’s, rural people, crib owners and rural service personnel. The Royal prides itself on bringing together a team of people who are friendly, proactive, keen to lgain and follow through with business improvement and expansion suggestions, consistently going the extra mile to provide guests and clients with an amazing practice.
