The position will involve 40 hours work per week Monday-Friday. We will also expect the prosperous applicant to share in our Saturday morning work roster, working 3.5 hours on one Saturday per month, on dates that are mutually agreeable.The work will involve general repair and setting-up work on violins, violas, cellos and double basses, both for company clients and for the company's retail shop and hire fleet. In addition, you will be asked to carry out restoration projects including full-depth patches, varnish restoration, arching corrections and all crack repairs and restorations. As part of your job you will be required to discuss work projects with the other workshop staff. You will also be asked to discuss work with clients and undertake some sales and telephone tasks if other staff members are already occupied. You will also be encouraged to lgain new restoration techniques as required. You must be a graduate of a recognized violin making school who has some post-graduate workshop practice. Skill in violin repair and restoration techniques is required, and an capability to communicate well in English is essential. Skills:
