Whakatairangatia i te mana o te rangahau ?-h?pori me te mahi tahi – Raising the mana of community expertise - together. Community Research is a small national community group that makes a massive impact. Their purpose is to contribute to a healthy, engaged and informed Tangata Whenua, Community and Voluntary sector, by providing digital resources and opportunities for the sector to connect and share. They validate lived-practice and expertise alongside academic research.
Due to the current General Manager taking some time out to focus on research pursuits, they are looking for a very special person to lead the organisation and day-to-day operations. Central to this is supporting their diverse and passionate team (five part-time staff plus valued key contractors).
Community Research is at an exciting phase in their journey. They are embarking on a nationwide re-engagement with the sector to determine their future strategy and workplan. This engagement will inform a significant event in 2023 - a expertise Collision Symposium – which will be the leading mechanism to futureproof their organisation.
Community Research is a treaty-located organisation with a two-house model of governance. The function is highly collaborative and relationship focused. You will need the confidence and practice with strategic relationships to develop and manage relationships at all levels of the sector.
You will be creative; forward thinking; culturally responsive; team orientated; and have a wide variety of skills, skills and lived practice. Above all, you will be aligned with their kaupapa and will know the value of equitable access to research.
Person Profile :
   » Strong leadership abilities capabilities with proven staff management practice
   » capability to actively work within a Tiriti governance model
   » expertise and practice of Tikanga M?ori and Te Reo M?ori
   » Business management practice with demonstrated abilities in organisational budgets and finance
   » capability to negotiate and manage contracts in the interests of the organisation
   » Strong community sector networks would be an advantage
   » A collaborative approach with the capability to get alongside and support staff
   » skills in fundraising
   » capability to think strategically as well as deliver a workplan
   » Highly developed written and oral communication skills
   » Strong relationship building and networking capabilities at all levels.
