Social Worker- opportunity for Provisional SW/New graduatesJob location:Auckland Waitakere & West Auckland Work Type: Permanent » » » • Work for a large non- profit organization • $56K-$65K annual income • Permanent FT function- West Auckland -Mon-Fri The function: Are you passionate about contributing to the whanau? Do you like working in the whanau projects? If the answer is yes, I would like to hear from you. My client is after a social worker who is available on a full-time basis – Monday to Friday to work at the whanau centre. The function would be: • To provide advocacy, advice and support to wh?nau who come through the Wh?nau Centre and referring on to other services where appropriate. • To provide case management for wh?nau. • To ensure that the needs of the clients are met, and they are encouraged and empowered, enabling them to find identity, make plans, set goals, find a sense of belonging in networked groups and become contributing members of the community. • To fulfill the requirements of contracts and reporting to MSD, OT and other stakeholders with regard to Social Work practice through the Wh?nau Centre. Main Job responsibilities: • To inform the Centre Team leader of milestones and challenges in implementing the project. • Assessing the needs of the clients entering the Centre, those referred from other services of business. • Complete an intake form, goal plan and evaluations, wherever possible, for clients. • Provide crisis response when required. • Support people in matters relating to injustice and beneficiary issues • Assist client to make measurable action plans and set goals and case manage appropriate support • Refer clients to appropriate support services and resources, including programs to educate and develop them for i.e., Parenting courses, other significant course programmes • Assist clients with practical needs to access items such as food parcel, furniture, housing and employment • Participate in a multi-disciplinary team • Complete and keep up to date Client records and files, including client database • Work alongside Quality and Evaluation and Business Intelligence on file/data keeping • Network with external agencies and community networks • Develop a sound network of other community agencies and services available for our clients • Develop and maintain good relationships with external agencies and networks You: • Social worker qualification (Bachelors) with 3+ years minimum practice. • expertise of te reo me tikanga M?ori an advantage ( you don’t need to speak Information technology or be fluent but must understand the Maori culture). • Networked within the community and related agencies • practice of using a client database tool to capture notes is required.
