The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) provides services that make a real difference to the lives of New Zealanders.
You will be working with a high performing passionate team who will fully support you to be prosperous. You will contribute to the Ministry’s reporting obligations and producing analysis to tell an integrated narrative located on data and evidence. A key objective of the System Performance group is to integrate the wealth of information we hold to support and inform MSD's functions.

You will be part of the Monitoring and Analysis team within the System Performance group who have a diverse range of responsibilities including:
   » Publishing reports and statistics to the Minister, internal teams and the public.
   » Providing advice and thought leadership abilities to help our stakeholders understand the context and drivers of what is happening in the system.
   » Delivering insights and analysis to support the strategic, policy, and delivery focus of MSD.
   » Enhancing the quality and timeliness of information products and artefacts including developing new techniques, approaches and visualisations.
To be prosperous in this function, you will have proven practice in:
   » Investigating, manipulating and analysing data to draw sound conclusions
   » The application of statistical methods, visual representation of data, and an aptitude for storytelling through data.
   » Working in a customer centric style and always striving to achieve excellent results
   » Communicating with key stakeholders and utilising varied messaging channels to convey your conclusions to diverse audiences including report writing.
   » Managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, and be someone who values teamwork
   » Providing mentoring or support to other team members
   » For the Senior Analyst - Reporting position advanced practice with SAS, SQL or R.
   » For the Analyst - Reporting position intermediate practice with SAS, SQL, or R
   » IDI practice or exposure would be an advantage
   » Familiarity with agile work principles
