Offer: Operational Health and Safety Coordinator (Estates):Maori Pacific JobsJob description:Job DescriptionOperational Health and Safety Coordinator (Estates)The Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is seeking a dedicated ‘Operational’ Health and Safety Professional to work within the Estates Directorate of New Zealand’s second largest university and its campus sites located within the Auckland Region. The Estates Directorate assists AUT to achieve its mission of ‘great graduates’.The Estates sites contain a huge infrastructure component with many and varied buildings, grounds and plant servicing over 30 thousand students, staff, contractors and visitors. General Health & Safety is a core value of AUT. This is enabled by best practice health, safety and injury management practices, policies, procedures and values. this function is a combination of administrational tasks and training as well as hands-on front-line support and planned and ad-hoc site visits to ensure best practice is being maintained. Responsibilities include; » Health, Safety & Management – Compliance and assurance to Policies, Practices & Processes » Permit to work training, issuing and inspection for onsite maintenance activities » Incident Management- Lead Investigator & Coaching and Support within Estates » Risk Management – Applying AUT’s and industry-standard Risk Management Processes » Culture Champion – Driving visible Safety leadership abilities Values through the business » Asbestos hazard response and removal coordinator. » Project Management – Critical Risks, Culture & Systems Development » Audits & Standards – ACE Audit, Processes and Internal Auditing » Information & Systems Management – IT, Document Control, Risk Software Reporting & Analysis » Continuance of established relationships with AUT’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Director and central HSW team, Internal staff, supply partners, regulators & contractors. The function requires a person passionate about health and safety who is focused on raising and achieving standards, and with great people and relationship management expertise at all levels. practice in a related industry would be advantageous but is not essential. You will have had exposure to risk safety systems and management and projects in a best practice and continuous improvement environment. A qualification significant to health and safety & practice in coaching people to achieve improved performance will be essential. AUT will require prosperous candidates to provide proof of full COVID vaccination prior to commencement of employment.
