Job Opportunity: Senior Policy Analyst:MinEducationJob description:Job DescriptionSenior Strategic Policy AnalystSystem Policy The System Policy team at the Ministry of Education is seeking a senior policy analyst who is interested to use systems thinking to provide high quality objective analysis and advice on strategically important Government policy issues. This person will require the following expertise and competencies: » capability to take a systems view and approach to advice including using systems thinking and frameworks » An knowledge of how organisational systems interact and influence each other, and how these systems contribute to issues/problems and results » capability to see the big picture, look at problems holistically and build knowledge of how to improve coherence of what is already in the system » capability to see relationships between and within organisational systems and the external environment » capability to work both in the detail and elevate material to focus on what’s important » practice in leading key policy initiatives » capability to work across teams and apply an organisational perspective to issues » Be excited by complex issues and able to think systemically » Be able to identify and articulate problems and results of changes » Be a willing learner » Be practiced in using multiple perspectives when looking at problems » Be future focused/take a long-term perspective We can offer you Important and compensateing work contributing to improving New Zealand’s education system.
