Waste Minimisation agent:FuelAgencyJob description:Job DescriptionWaste Minimisation agentWhangarei District Council is currently looking for a passionate sustaincapability professional to join our organisation and help us continue our critical Waste Minimisation work. This exciting function will help coordinate and progress Waste Minimisation projects smoothly and in a timely fashion as we work to deliver our Waste Management and Minimisation Plan. Engagement is a critical aspect of the function and Information technology involves working closely with Council staff from across the organisation, our hapu and external stakeholders. This including the teams delivering our Corporate Sustaincapability Strategy and our Climate Action Plan which is in development. An knowledge of the waste and recycling industry, including services provided to the Whangarei District Council residents would be valuable. A strong customer focus, project management expertise, and a can-do attitude will all be essential for this dynamic and compensateing function. What you’ll do: » Manage and lead out the delivery of the Council's behaviour change programme that focusses on education and events in the community. » Work with the community to encourage waste minimisation, including managing council's community waste fund. » Providing waste minimisation support to Council staff, contractors and other departments. » Plan and deliver council's own waste minimisation programme to reduce waste produced by council staff. » Plan and deliver campaigns to council staff and the community including but not limited to Recycling Week and Plastic Free July, Keep NZ Beautiful. » Respond to customer requests for information and resolve issues with service delivery. » Liaising closely with the Communications team to ensure excellent and consistent communications from Council on solid waste issues. » Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and networking with other Councils/ waste related organisations to progress collaborative opportunities. What you will bring: » The capability to resolve issues on a everyday basis in a professional and efficient manner. » Interest in the area of waste and recycling. » Excellent verbal and written communication expertise with the capability to communicate with a wide variety of people. » An engaging attitude and capcapability to develop collaborative relationships.
