"Move" tutor training offers New Zealand's only dance teacher training for people with disabilities and the ?Diversity Dance Project? takes this work into mainstream primary schools changing the traditional dynamic by having people with disabilities as the teachers.We're looking to recruit an practiced and innovative General Manger to work closely with our Artistic Director to realise Jolt's vision to offer creative freedom, imaginative innovation, expectation for excellence, connection and community for people with disabilities You will play a pivotal part in our organisation, responsible for day-to-day operations of the company, improving the management processes and infrastructure, and supporting the creative performances and community programmes of the organisation. This is a great opportunity for person who is highly motivated with management practice in the performing arts. About the opportunity Reporting to the Board the general manager is responsible for: » Management: implementation of the annual business plan » Marketing: developing marketing approaches building Jolt's national profile » Fund raising: making funding applications, raising sponsorship, and building relationships » leadership abilities and management of our small team » Financial management and oversight » Production support for jolt programmes and performances (this would be booking venues, accommodation for tours etc) About you You will be highly motivated and able to self-start with a desire to make a difference to grow the inclusiveness of disabled people in or community. Your background and practice will likely include: » Arts management practice is highly desirable or have broad business practice with a demonstrated passion for the arts » Good organisational and management expertise, including strategic planning, budgeting, and performance evaluation » Highly developed financial management expertise » practice in writing prosperous arts grant applications » Demonstrated leadership abilities expertise » Working expertise of the everyday operations of an arts company. What we offer The function is for 20 hours per week with Ministry of Culture and Heritage funding for the function in place for 3 years.
