The Service Support team is responsible for oversight of a range of programmes and services that support akonga across Aotearoa New Zealand to be engaged and achieve in education. The team has a strong commitment to giving practical effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Ka Hikitia – Ka Hapaitia and, promoting positive and sustainable change for akonga Maori.

This is an exciting opportunity for an practiced education professional to join our Service Support team. The Implementation Lead works collaboratively with internal and external colleagues and stakeholders to lead significant change in service design of initiatives with a particular focus on Te Ao Maori concepts, as well as the prosperous transition of these initiatives to front line services for implementation and delivery.
The Implementation Lead works across Te Mahau and the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) suite of initiatives, supporting significant reflection of te Ao Maori concepts and connections between Iwi, Hapu, whanau and school communities, to enable delivery of PB4L initiatives in a more significant way for akonga and whanau Maori.
The income band for this function is $110,923 – $135,573 depending on expertise and practice.

To be prosperous in the function, you will be working collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders, including developing relationships at senior levels.
significant tertiary qualification or equivalent level of practical practice is required along with developed networks, credibility, and relationships with Iwi, Hapu and Maori organisations, and communities.
Your background should include practice in the service delivery, working with diverse communities and the capability to demonstrate the following practice:
   » Skilled in leading and motivating others, able to challenge, facilitate, mentor, and coach to increase capcapability for excellence, and where necessary, change
   » capability to facilitate and provide, where required, appropriate cultural support to ensure tikanga Maori is respected and maintained when engaging with Iwi and Maori
   » capability to use a strengths-located approach across the Ministry using highly advanced influencing, relationship management and stakeholder engagement expertise
   » capability in Te Reo Maori that enables communicating effectively when required at a level acceptable to the audience
   » Knowledge of Matauranga Maori and practice in co-design with tangata whenua
   » Familiarity with the education system and a sound knowledge of the workings of government
   » Skilled in analysing data and implementing reporting processes to determine prosperous, positive and sustainable change for all akonga, including akonga Maori
You will also offer the following:
   » capability to provide culturally responsive learning support that meets the needs of akonga Maori, whanau and kaiako
   » Significant practice in providing advice and guidance, including in the development of resources, to support practice improvement
   » capability to work co-operatively and in collaboration with others to deal with problems or complete tasks
   » capability to work with ambiguity and in flexible ways to manage changing priorities
