Be our Principal Advisor – Customer System within our wider Customer System and Intelligence team.
We want all people in New Zealand to receive the support they need to avoid injury and manage their own wellbeing.
The Principal Advisor – Customer System will play a critical function in this mahi by supporting the delivery of a future oriented organisational strategy for ACC and our customers.
This is a great opportunity to shape a new and exciting function for ACC. You will lead ACC’s engagement on external system issues and design a strategy and system work programme that will improve the sustaincapability of the ACC scheme and the wellbeing of ACC’s customers into the future.
A bit about what we’re looking for from you. You have significant practice working at a senior level providing policy, regulatory and legislative advice. You are an expert on the machinery of government and have led, or have been a key senior contributor to, significant cross-government or cross-sector programmes of work.
You are very practiced in effective relationship management. You are comfortable negotiating and advocating for your organisation and your customers. And you have demonstrated skill at quickly knowledge external landscapes and identifying strategic opportunities for people in Aotearoa and the organisations you represent.
You are comfortable with multiple priorities and working within a busy work programme in an agile way. You are looking for an opportunity to grow, your non-positional leadership abilities in a new organisation.
You apply a partnership approach to your work and understand the value of being collaborative. You are a naturally curious person that embraces diversity and innovation. And you have a talent for using evidence and data to inform your advice.

What We are seeking for from you to be prosperous in this function will include the following:
   » Proven capability in managing external/cross sector engagement to ensure external intelligence and government strategy is effectively informing strategic direction
   » Highly effective relationship management, influencing and negotiation skills and practice engaging and influencing across government
   » Demonstrated high level conceptual and creative thought leadership abilities for the provision of robust strategic policy advice
   » Demonstrated practice providing thought leadership abilities and advice to inform the development of system initiatives and cross-government or sector programmes of work
   » Proven practice in prosperously leading through change and embedding positive culture change
   » A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application to your function
