Jobs and expertise Hubs are part of the suite of MSD employment focused services with the specific mandate of promoting and supporting the construction industry. As a Youth and Community Facilitator, you'll play a key part in the wider Jobs and expertise Hubs working alongside a variety of key stakeholders. You will be a key pillar for a ?one stop shop' service approach to industry. You’ll be focused on developing and leading initiatives to provide employment related practices that will support the long-term sustainable results of increasing the number of youth entering and being retained in the construction and infrastructure industry and related trades. this function will work closely with schools, community groups and educators to identify which of their young people would benefit from exposure to building and construction pathways. Because of these relationships, there will be opportunities to raise the profile of the sector with educators in schools and broaden students' consciousness of the multiple pathways available to them, leading to increased numbers of students seeking industry exposure while still at school. this function will engage in the development of youth ready strategies, processes and exposure opportunities that set up employers and youth for a mutually beneficial employment related practice. In the function you will also be able to connect with community organisations and promote construction as a sustainable career pathway. Local jobs for local people is our mantra and you will be critical to making this happen as part of the wider Hubs team. expertise and practice required:» Proven practice in supporting and navigating young people on their pathway into employment» Knowledge of the Building and Construction Industry and related trades » practice in youth development, M?ori and Pasefika engagement, education, or community support » Strong relationship management expertise; builds and sustains relationships through respect for individuals, open communication and displaying sensitivity towards people » capability to engage well with young people while being comfortable collaborating with and influencing senior stakeholders » knowledge and capability to uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi » Passion for youth prosperously accessing and thriving in the workplace » Confidence in facilitating in a range of contexts » Intermediate Computer expertise Part of the function is travelling through the region using Ministry vehicles, so a full NZ clean driver's licence without restrictions is required.
