They aim to provide responsive treatment to service users who require more flexibility and intensity of support than general care and recovery teams are often able to offer. Our client operates as a specialist team supported by a clinical co-ordinator and staffed with mental health clinicians from a backgrounds. The team includes » Working with a smaller case load to ensure there is an capability to maintain a high level of input » Specialist interventions with a focus on covering high risk and poor engagement » Flexibility to provide assertive and intensive interventions » Crisis resolution during hours of operation Focus » Dual diagnosis » Forensics » Homelessness and Transience » Medication adherence and management » Proactive in-reach with inpatient settings » Working with Family/Whanau » Psychological and social interventions function: » Provision of clinical services to service users » Should be a team player and be able to build relationships with referring clinicians, agencies, other mental health services, NGOs as well as with the internal team. » expertise and practice in clinical assessment, formulation and treatment of clients and their families. » expertise of recovery and current psychotherapy models, particularly CBT and DBT. » Plans/prioritizes and manages workload » Clearly articulates rationale for all procedures, prescribed actions and facilitates informed consent. » Develops positive working relationships with consumers and treats them with as a ‘first priority’. Identifies and seeks to meet their needs. » Statutes, codes and other material related to professional practice are incorporated into service delivery such as: Treaty of Waitangi, Code of Ethics for Psychologists working in Aotearoa/New Zealand, 2002; HPCA Act 2003.
