Senior Network Design Engineer We are seeking for a Senior Network Design Engineer to join our busy team. this function will act as a key contributor for the Infrastructure and Services (I&S) team, providing network engineering solutions and support for MSD Corporate Solutions. The network solution will provide flexible, highly available, and multitenant LAN/WAN/WIFI, Security, and other network platforms for the support of MSD and other customers. The MSD Network Environment includes the following Vendors & products : Cisco , Aruba , Zscaler , Infoblox , Genesys , Microsoft , in over 150 MSD NZ sites , NZ Data Centres and Cloud. Key responsibilities for this function include » Interpret designs provided by the Architects and create detailed configurations and templates to implement highly available mission-critical corporate network infrastructure » Develop detailed network standards and connected documentation including diagrams and work instructions, monitoring, change procedures, performance and capacity planning instrumentation » Develop detailed network project and test plans, independently execute network project plans and select the most effective network hardware/software solutions Specify detailed BOMs, creatively coordinate and implement complex network changes within allotted windows to maintain SLAs for high availcapability » Act as level 3/4 support for network operations and intermediate engineers Independently complete assigned tasks on time to meet project milestones Our ideal candidate will have practice in the above responsibilities as well as the following » Excellent communication expertise -including orideas/opinions to others » Active listener; able to clearly translate and interpret customer requirements to ensure requirements are met » Excellent interpersonal expertise - able to adapt these to the needs of the audience » Target driven and commitment to attainment of goals » Highly developed decision making expertise - able to analyse information from a variety of sources, make judgements and recommendations, and strives for continuous improvement » Highly self-motivated, with a proven interest in developing current expertise » Welcomes and values diversity, and contributes to an inclusive working environment where differences are acexpertised and respected Position Description https://www.msd.govt.nz/hr/documents/position-descriptions/dce-organisation al-assurance-and-communication/information/senior-network-design-engineer-vo ice-feb-20.docx To support our people's professional development, we're implementing the SFIA capcapability framework.
