Principal Architect

Play a key function in one of New Zealand largest government Information technology departments
   » Be the driver behind establishing significant architecture standards and improving decision-making across the Ministry
   » Contribute to significant work whilst making a positive impact to New Zealanders nationwide
The Improvement Systems and Technology team are looking for a driven and collaborative architecture leader with broad knowledge and practice.
With increased business demand for transformation over the next decade, and a recently updated Technology Strategy, IST are looking for a Principal Architect to join their team.
this function will work closely with and support the General Manager Technology Strategy and Architecture. You will drive architecture standards and governance forums to improve decision-making across the Ministry. You will work alongside a variety of talented people, and you will help to lead and grow a passionate and thriving architecture practice.
To be prosperous in this function, you will bring previous practice in
   » Establishing trusted relationships to help foster prosperous results
   » Working in large scale and complex environments
   » Defining and communicating best-practice architecture standards and patterns
   » Strong expertise in facilitating and negotiating
   » Leading and growing architecture teams
Key requirements of the function
   » Lead the architecture work programme to establish and continuously improve architecture standards and patterns
   » Provide oversight of the work within the architecture work programme and help to act as the bridge between operational delivery of projects and the Ministry's future state architecture
   » Drive the architecture governance forum and provide advice on alignment with standards
   » Help to establish quality guidelines to assist in improving the overall performance of MSD's architecture services
   » Mentor and coach architects
   » Robust communication expertise with the capability to network with others across the Ministry and wider technology industry
   » Developing technology strategies, architectural runways and roadmaps
   » Have a thorough knowledge and knowledge of all technology capabilities, whilst knowledge how they work prosperously to enable value delivery
