Dairy Farm adjunct:Job description:Dairy Farm adjunctPayment: Accommodation & Paid ($20.00)Job location: Methven Region: Christchurch & Canterbury practice: Limited practice Necessary Listing Added: 12/07/2021 Braemer Daires is currently seeking an practiced farm adjunct from 1 August – 31 October to assist with the upcoming calving and mating period on a 600 cow farm at Methven, Canterbury, New Zealand. Your tasks will include: · Milking in a 40 bale rotary shed with ACR’s · Putting up break fences · Weed control · Checking cows during calving period · Moving irrigation · Identifying mastitis · Assisting with calving · Assisting with AI mating · Collecting newborn calves · Riding a motorbike and quad bike · General farm work We are located 8 minutes from Methven, 40 minutes to Mt Hutt ski field and 25 minutes from Ashburton. Accommodation is a fully furnished 3 bedroom cottage which is not shared with anyone else and is part of the package. You would be responsible for electricity and groceries. We run a roster of 6 days on and 2 days off until October then 8 days on and 3 days off. The farm is smoke free and drug free. In return you will have; · A great attitude, current drivers’ license · An approved working holiday visa or the required visa to work in New Zealand · Your own car would be a great advantage · capability to work in a team and on your own when required · Effective communication expertise including fluent spoken English as you will be required to follow instructions and work in an environment where you will be operating machinery etc PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST BE RESIDING IN NEW ZEALAND TO BE CONSIDERED FOR this function.
