The function The Group General Manager People (GGM People) leads the function that enables our 9000 people to do their best for our clients. The function covers a wide variety of activity from the development and implementation of our People Strategy, to the delivery of services including recruitment, advisory services, training and development and payroll. The GGM People is the Ministry's lead advisor on people, culture and employment relations matters and works closely with the leadership abilities Team to connect our people strategy and delivery with the organisational strategy - Te Pae Tawhiti. this function works closely with Te Kawa Mataaho and other agencies to leverage the strengths of people capcapability across the public sector. While reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive People and Capcapability, the GGM People works closely with the Chief Executive and the leadership abilities Team to provide advice and guidance. About you The GGM People will be an practiced operational leader with practice at working in large and complex organisations. You will need to be collaborative, have excellent communications expertise, be culturally competent and understand front line service delivery.As an established senior leader, you will have had practice in leading a significant function in a large and complex organisation where you have had a high level of strategic engagement with boards, chief executives and executive teams. You will have practice of developing and delivering people focused strategy, particularly workforce planning and development. As the Ministry is in a period of rapid change, practice leading or being part of an organisational transformation would be desirable.
