Job Description

The Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand (MHF) is a charity that works towards creating a society free from discrimination, where all people enjoy positive mental health and wellbeing.
The MHF is launching into an exciting new phase of knowledge and information management, and this new function will be part of it. If you're a talented and practiced secondary researcher and record-keeper and want to be a part of taking us to the next level, this is the function for you.
this function is responsible for taking our records management and archives forward, as well as joining our research service and responding to the research needs of our organisation.
Working within our resource and information service (RIS) team, you'll work across all our teams and with other stakeholders to provide access to evidence and information that helps us achieve our goals. Your work will guide the MHF in our mission to prevent suicide, eradicate stigma and discrimination and improve the positive mental health and wellbeing of all New Zealanders.
Your research, records and people skills and practice will be put to?great use?as you assist MHF staff in using and accessing information?and contribute towards?creating an Aotearoa where all people thrive.
You'll be joining a highly skilled team of people focused on different aspects of information and knowledge, working in an exciting environment of like-minded professionals. If you are all about empowering people through access to information and knowledge and have an interest in health in Aotearoa New Zealand, this is the function for you.
You will have:
   » practice of working within an information service, providing literature search services
   » practice sharing information with people face-to-face, through educational sessions or similar
   » Reference, research and analysis competencies
   » Strong research literacy and online information literacy skills
   » knowledge of a range of research tools, and capability to match research tools to type of data and information required
   » An capability to deal empathetically with those seeking information and a consideration for the unique nature of the organisation and its work
   » knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi and practical application and an existing knowledge of and availability to grow and extend knowledge of Te Ao M?ori and Te Reo M?ori.
   » knowledge of, and practice with people from a wide variety of cultures/ ethnicities and life practices

This is a new function and sits within the Mental Health Foundation's resource and information service (RIS) team and reports to the knowledge, resources and information manager.
The income range for thisposition is $63,000 - $73,000and will be commensurate to the prosperouscandidate'sskills and practice for the function.
