We provide independent, expert advice to the Government of Aotearoa on both mitigating and adapting to the effects of climate change, and we monitor and review the Government’s progress towards its emissions reduction and adaptation goals. The Commission plays a key function in developing and implementing clear and reliable climate change policies in Aotearoa. In the past three years we’ve provided advice on the first three emissions budgets, the direction of the emissions reduction plan, agricultural emissions pricing, and NZ Emissions Trading Scheme settings. T?nga | The function: The function is responsible for supporting the Commission’s Kaiwhakahaere Matua M?ori within a fast paced and dynamic environment. Providing proactive support and guidance that enables them to be effective in their functions. this function will work closely with our three other Executive adjunct’s to deliver seamless executive support and backup. The function will also proactively identify ways to improve the administrative processes and tools used to support the Tier Two Senior leadership abilities Team. As a member of the Governance and Corporate Services team in a small and focussed organisation, the Executive adjunct will work in a collaborative way to help to create a culture that is outcome and customer-focussed, supportive, and empowering. ? p?manawa | About you: this function will suit someone who has had broad practice supporting senior leaders within a fast paced and dynamic environment. The function will require practice with complex diary management, relationship management, as well as drafting correspondence and reports. Information technology is essential for the prosperous candidate to have a strong intuition and can navigate through situations that may at times seem ambiguous. A calm and flexible approach will see the candidate succeed in this function. In addition, you will have: » expertise of Tikanga M?ori » Exceptional planning and organisational expertise; including time and workflow management, prioritising tasks, and responsibilities in a complex and busy work environment. » High levels of integrity, with practised judgment and discretion. » Skilled in negotiation and influence. » Excellent communication expertise, both written and verbal. » broad practice with MS suite including advanced expertise in Outlook and Word, as well as in Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
