We have a permanent Senior Analyst opportunity in our Research and Evaluation team. The Opportunity Join a dynamic research and evaluation team producing evidence that informs decision making for better social results. Bring your skills in results-focused intervention design and measurement frameworks, as well as your aptitude for facilitation and building capcapability, to help us ensure results stay centre of what we do at MSD. The function sits within the Research and Evaluation team in the Strategy and Insights Group. Our Group leads development and implementation of the Ministry's strategy by creating insights for effective decision making, focusing resources on the right investments, and knowledge and evaluating performance. About the team The Research and Evaluation team are champions and custodians of evidence within the Ministry. We are responsible for looking ahead, developing, and delivering a programme of research and evaluative work that produces insights and positions knowledge products to shape the Ministry's strategic decisions. We are experts in results-located design, research, and evaluation, deploying a range of methodologies to answer questions at the core of effective social development intervention. We support quality, ethics, publication, transparency, and empowerment through the research process. What We are seeking for We are seeking for someone who can be our practice lead on results-located design, deploying into intervention design teams to ensure sound results frameworks and measurement plans emerge. The function will be responsible for building these capabilities within our team and across the Ministry. As a Senior Analyst within the Research & Evaluation team you will also lead on or contribute to a programme of research and evaluative work. Natural relationship building and facilitation skills are a must in this function. You will bring a sound knowledge of and practice applying research and evaluation methods to social problems. this function will appeal to you if you have: » broad practice leading development of intervention logic and results frameworks » practice designing and leading training and workshops to build staff capcapability on intervention logic, results frameworks and measurement » skills in research and evaluation methods – quantitative or qualitative methodologies » skills in evaluative monitoring approaches, and practice supporting organisations to adopt measurement strategies that best leverage monitoring data to make early evaluative assessments of progress towards results » a significant tertiary qualification, for example social science research » practice working with data and producing insights from data » a knowledge of significant computer packages - Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint (NVivo, SAS, R, or similar statistical packages would be an advantage) » highly effective communication skills » examples of effective visual communication of insights » sensitivity to, and respect for, cultural and other differences between people » the capability to work independently and as a member of a team » a flexible, adaptable and pragmatic approach.
