At Te T?huhu o te M?tauranga – Ministry of Education, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ?konga and wh?nau.
We help shape the policies, settings and performance of the education system for early learning, schooling and tertiary. We do this by building relationships and knowledge the needs of those who receive our services.

About our group and team
We are pursuing a Principal Business Analyst to join our Project and Investment Advice (PIA) team. The Project and Investment Advice (PIA) team provides advice, insights and guidance to senior leadership abilities about investment decisions and support the prioritisation of projects and programmes across the Ministry. PIA is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the Ministry’s project, programme, and portfolio management (P3M) capcapability and supports investment management practices.
The team is part of Corporate Strategy and Performance Hub (CSP Hub). The Hub works across the Ministry to develop organisational strategy, the threats and opportunities in us meeting our strategic objectives, knowledge progress towards our results within change portfolios. Information technology also services and provides advice to the Ministry's governance boards.
The Hub also offers operational delivery advice across the Ministry in the functional areas of planning and performance, enterprise risk management, project and investment advice (PIA) and governance support services.
About this function
Reporting to the Director Project and Investment Advice, the Principal Business Analyst function will see you play a key function in supporting the continued P3M capcapability build across the ministry.
The Principal Business Analyst function will collaborate with ?Capcapability Partners? across the Ministry to establish requirements for PPM and Business tools and assist with the design and procurement of PPM tools. You will be responsible for documenting processes of existing and new processes connected with the Ministry Delivery Framework (MDF) and other significant processes.

About you
We are seeking for someone who:
   » has strong analytical and problem-solving expertise and is comfortable working with ambiguity
   » proactively engages, builds, and maintains enduring relationships and networks
   » brings business analysis practice at a senior level, has consciousness of a range of technologies and practice in the application of best practice business analysis tools and standards (such as Business Process Model and Notation and Unified Modelling Langauge, Service Design)
   » the capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga.
