Are you our next Visitor practice Manager? Are you collaborative and creative, with the expertise and practice to lead a multifaceted team to develop events and programmes for MOTAT's audiences? Do you bring an knowledge of te ao M?ori (or a desire to learn) to your mahi?
MOTATis an interactive museum with a focus on creating a fun, educational, and inspiring environment for our visitors. We are home to a unique mix of collections and practices centred around the past, present, and future technology of Aotearoa New Zealand.
About the function
Reporting to the Public Programmes Manager, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of MOTAT's seasonal visitor programmes, practices, and events. Along with your team you will develop and deliver a programme of interactive practices and events for children and families, which educate and inspire an interest in science, technology, and innovation in all of its forms. We're increasingly seeking to bring a te ao M?ori perspective to our storytelling and programme development, so if you bring m?tauranga M?ori and have an capability to walk in two worlds that would be a huge benefit which would be wholeheartedly embraced.

This is a full-time function, largely working Monday to Friday each week. As Information technology is a hands-on function weekends and evenings will be required at times, to support the delivery of programmes. Flexible working policies are in place though and will provide you with the capability to adjust your working hours around your personal commitments.

About You
We're interested to hear from anyone who has around five years of visitor practice development and delivery practice, having managed people, projects, and budgets in previous function(s). Ideally you will come from a public events, placemaking, or arts background, but if you feel you have expertise from a different environment that you could bring to this function, let us know in your application.

You will be a strong and empathetic leader who thrives in an environment where visitors are at the forefront of practice development, and where we aim to attract a diverse audience through the delivery of our programmes.

Why Chose MOTAT?
This is a great time to join a team with the practice and enthusiasm to position MOTAT as a ?must practice' venue here in T?maki Makaurau. Not only will you get to work with great people in the heart of Te Wai ?rea Western Springs, but you will also get the benefit of flexible working policies, birthday leave and study leave, and additional KiwiSaver contributions, and a MOTAT Mates annual pass for you and your family.
