The function will entail a range of responsibilities - from providing input to project planning, to design, implementation, verification and debugging of digital and baseband hardware subsystemsTo be prosperous you'll need to show solid practice as a Hardware Engineer who is keen to move into a position of responsibility for a well known, high profile brand . You’ll come with an knowledge of high speed logic, programmable logic, microprocessor systems and converter interfaces. Tasks include: » Capturing, analysing and documenting requirements (interfaces, functionality and performance) » Providing input to project planning, including task definition and duration » Design, implementation (including schematic capture and supervision of layout), verification and debugging of digital and baseband hardware subsystems » Supporting systems integration and product testing » Documenting all activities to an agreed standard Key expertise required: » Hands-on design practice (high speed logic, programmable logic, microprocessor systems, converter interfaces) » practice with analogue hardware development (audio, low current power supplies, displays, analogue interfaces) » Some involvement in designing solutions with FPGAs » Skilled in the use of standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analysers, etc) » practice with simulation packages including signal integrity and spice-located circuit analysis » Some knowledge of embedded software development is useful » Cellular hardware practice is highly desirable » practice in the radio communications industry desirable » Used to working in a commercially driven organisation » Excellent problem-solving expertise » Willing to share knowledge and both train and be trained by others » practice in writing technical specifications » Good written and oral communication expertise located within a state of their art R&D faciltiy on Christchurch's city fringe, there is a wide a range of benefits included in the package such as: » Health insurance for you and your family » Flexible working opportunities » Long service benefits » Free onsite parking » Onsite gym and cafe facilities » An active social club (including regular sausage sizzles!)
