The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ carries on the work of the late New Zealander Professor Fred Hollows (1929-1993). We work in the Pacific to restore sight to the needlessly blind and train local eye health specialists to provide eye care services in their own communities. The function:
This key function supports the advancement of our programme activities across the Pacific Region through ensuring effective resource mobilisation and strong, impactful donor partnerships.
The Resource Mobilisation Lead plays a key function in the development of resource-located partnerships with institutional donors to support FHFNZ’s vital work. Working closely with our teams, partners and key stakeholders, you will lead the process to prosperously identify, apply for and capture strategic funding opportunities. You will also play a key function in managing these partnerships moving forwards, including leading fulfilment of due diligence, high-quality reporting and continuing communications and engagement.
Responsibilities include:
   » Establish effective and clear processes for early capture of opportunities and management of resource mobilisation
   » Develop excellent proposals for resource-located partnerships
   » Cultivate strong donor partnerships by fostering regular communication and meetings
   » Conduct research on changing donor environments and produce strategies for effective influencing of donors
   » Review and complete contracts ensuring compliance with key contractual requirements
   » Collaborate with Relationship Managers on private donor partnerships
expertise and practice required:
   » Minimum five years’ practice managing large multiyear grants ideally related to international development or humanitarian programming
   » Knowledge and proven track record of prosperous working relations with a variety of donors, particularly large institutional donors, multilateral and bilateral aid agencies and large NZ Trusts/Foundations
   » A proven track record in resource mobilisation, including the development of high-quality proposals for institutional donors
   » practice in managing donor requirements and reporting systems
   » practice and knowledge of contracts and agreements, including negotiation, drafting and compliance
   » Excellent team player with strong leadership abilities, coordination and collaboration expertise, and the capability to build rapport and network effectively
   » Familiarity with/practice in working with Pacific communities
   » Strong expertise in writing, finance and risk management
   » capability to work to tight deadlines and time-manage effectively while maintaining high-quality outputs
