Job Offer: Senior Advisor – Government Engagement:Maori Pacific JobsJob description:Job DescriptionSenior Advisor – Government EngagementAre you interested in leading engagement between Education New Zealand, Manapou ki te Ao (ENZ) and our stakeholders, particularly government agencies? Do you want to support the delivery of our strategic objectives? Have you got practice to influence decision makers and grow relationships across government agencies? ENZ's purpose is to deliver social, cultural and economic benefits for Aotearoa New Zealand by taking New Zealand education practices to the world. We are seeking for someone who has the political consciousness to navigate flexibly through government and international education sector meetings. You must be able to analyse information and provide advice on approaches and solutions that are workable. Our team is small, so you will work hand in hand with the Engagement Manager and the wider team of 8, including the Director Government Relations. You will need to have high energy as this is a busy function but something that you can make your own. this function will suit someone who is meticulous in their work, has excellent relationship and stakeholder engagement expertise and is comfortable working in and through ambiguity. To be prosperous in this position you will have: » A minimum of 5 years public sector practice and an knowledge of the workings of the New Zealand government including ministerial and parliamentary processes » A tertiary qualification in a significant discipline » Confidence and capability to map out, lead and implement significant pieces of work » Good interpersonal and relationship management expertise with a collaborative style of engagement, an capability to work across different cultural environments, manage divergent interests and anticipate and manage conflict » A flexible and creative approach to problem solving, good judgement and a proactive, positive ?can do? attitude The function is a full-time permanent function located in our Wellington office.
