Job Opportunity: Level 7 Art & Creativity Tutor:Job description:Job detailsOrganisation The Learning Connexion Closes 20 Jun 2021 Posted on 11 Jun 2021 Region Wellington Work type Part time employment Work classification Education & Development ShareThe Learning Connexion is a tertiary level school of art and creativity located in the Hutt Valley, Wellington.We seek a part-time art tutor to join our blended learning team on the Diploma of Art and Creativity (Advanced) Level 7. The function involves delivery of four one day workshops on campus (one per term) integrated with online delivery via Zoom and Google Classrooms (the latter presently in development). The programme is located upon Ako approaches, where a non-hierarchical relationship between tutor and student is established with the aim of drawing creativity out of the student, rather than imposing a set of standards. Creative context is orientated in the student's work, with professional practice and research located practice wrapped around individual creative practice. To be prosperous in this position you will be able to: » Work with students in ways which are respectful, valuable and supportive » Deliver to students with a broad range of abilities and creative contexts » Understand and articulate the creative process and how this connects with students' work » Deliver class content through a blend of online and face to face delivery » Be flexible, patient and able to think on your feet candidates would preferably either hold a degree level qualification in visual/fine arts, or have completed The Diploma in Art and Creativity (Advanced) through The Learning Connexion. Prior teaching practice is required. We also expect our tutors to be practising artists with an active personal practise. Training, teaching materials and course outlines will be provided to the prosperous applicant to work from, which can be amended for future delivery. The function is part-time (approx. 14 hours per week) and located at our Taita campus in the Hutt Valley.
