World of WearableArt (WOW) is seeking an exceptional person to lead a talented and professional team to deliver and grow the annual wearable art competition and contribute to the wider strategic ambitions of the company.
At the heart of WOW is an internationally renowned wearable art competition which attracts entries from more than 40 countries around the globe each year. The astonishing works of wearable art created by designers and then selected by the judges go on to take the stage in the annual WOW Awards Show which attracts an audience of more than 60,000 people. WOW also has the privilege to house and care for an incredible collection of past garments which are showcased through exhibitions, live events, and other activations.
As Head of Competition, you will drive annual delivery of all competition activity and provide leadership abilities to the managers responsible for wardrobe, collection and model/talent management. Past exposure to international competitions, events or production would be an advantage. Authenticity and approachcapability are essential, particularly in terms of designer relationships. You will also have the attributes of being a strategic thinker, problem solver with the capability to navigate uncertainty with a resilient nature.
This is a unique and challenging opportunity for a talented individual that is looking to lead the wearable art competition through the next stages of the WOW journey.
Ideally you will be located in the Nelson Tasman region but there is some flexibility for the right person to be located out of Wellington.
