Auckland Regional Public Health Services (ARPHS) delivers public health services on behalf of the three district health boards in the Auckland region. We strive to protect health, prevent disease, reduce inequities and promote well-being for the people and environment of Auckland.

We have a great opportunity for you to carry out alcohol and smokefree regulatory responsibilities to ensure effective enforcement of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990 as a Compliance agent at Auckland Regional Public Health Service (ARPHS). this function sits within the Health Improvement Team which works across the areas of alcohol, smokefree, nutrition and workplace health and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities of the function include:
   » Inspections and monitoring of alcohol licensing applications
   » Investigating complaints under the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act (1990) and conducting proactive Smokefree enforcement
   » Building and maintaining networks to support collaborative working
   » Applying a health equity lens to shape Tamaki Makaurau so all flourish.

About you | He k?rero m?u
Given the importance of this function, you will be someone who:
   » Is committed to achieving health equity and improving results for people in T?maki Makaurau
   » Is passionate about protecting Aucklanders from the harms connected from alcohol and tobacco
   » Has an eye for detail, the capability to translate legislation into practice and have accurate investigation, assessment and reporting skills.
   » Ideally has a minimum of three or more years' practice in regulatory work/ health promotion/environmental health or a significant discipline alongside an undergraduate or post graduate qualification within an appropriate discipline or progress towards completion.
   » Have a full New Zealand driver's licence
   » expertise of te reo me ona Tikanga would be an advantage
